Finland - Tampere to Helsinki

Näsi Park is in Tampere's city centre on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. This work by the Finnish sculptor, Emil Wikström, in 1913 was Tampere's first public work of art. It has three parts to it: the maiden Pohjanneito spinning gold thread at the top; and the Cycle of Life below which depicts a grandmother teaching her granddaughter how to knit and a grandfather and his grandson by a water wheel.
